This study’s participants described how creative practices sustained their conceptions and embodiments of leadership in P-12 schools, community organizations, and universities. We also found and frequented metaphorical oases on campus in the form of people, collectives, and meaningful programs for students. The participants who felt rejuvenated had gone through severe challenges and had dug their way out to major professional changes that offered peace and protected their priorities.
