Welcome to joy and connection!
The UCEA Art Salon began in 2021 at the UCEA Annual Convention in Columbus, Ohio. Freshly awarded the Spencer Foundation grant and reconvening in person for the first time post-pandemic, we felt compelled to imagine the “pandemic as portal” to new kinds of relation, connection, and creativity at UCEA and in our home departments and institutions (Roy, 2020).
This year, at #UCEA25, we will be hosting our 4th Art Salon and bringing the past back with us. We have a collage of photos of past art salon participants–the UCEA imaginers–who have created space for warmth, laughter, storytelling, and tears at Convention. Join us and make a love letter postcard, a clay figurine, a collage, a painting, or a poem! Have your photo taken with your creation and join our growing collage of love and imagination at UCEA.
